Grow Your Email list

Too many blog sites doesn’t ask website visitors for their email address and this is a huge opportunity missed. Building an email list is crucial because it’s the best way to build a relationship with your audience.

“With email, you’re not just a status update that’s there and gone, you’re right in someone’s inbox.” Nathalie Lussier, a digital strategist at Ambition Ally, says. “Plus, when you build an email list it’s “yours” – you don’t have to worry about a third party changing the rules on you. For contrast, a free service like Facebook can decide to decrease the reach you had with your fans to encourage businesses to pay for ads, but you don’t have these types of restrictions when someone has given you permission to send them useful emails.”

Facebook, Google and other platforms are constantly changing their algorithms but if you have your own email list, these changes wouldn’t matter because you’ll still be able to promote fresh content to your subscribers.

Some great tips here. I’m pretty new to blogging… or professional blogging at least. The email list point is really interesting – I went through that debate with myself recently. I didn’t want to bother people with emails and didn’t think people would want to subscribe, but after I learned more about it and set up my email subscribe option my list is growing with people who really want to read my stuff 🙂
